I have two children that attend this school and they are thriving both academically and emotionally. The teachers care and we feel safe at this school. Stiles Point Elementary is a wonderful school.

The current principal literally wrote a book advocating educators to do less (look it up yourself). Not do more with less, just less. All while the school raises taxes extraordinarily with no end in sight. There is no accountability, no standards, nothing. The current principal would rather be on the stage performing instead of leading the school towards academic achievement. There is a time and place for the arts but the current principals sole focus on performance art is setting students up for future failure. The Administration is bloated and top heavy (unnecessary and redundant positions all making too much money). The school frequently threatens to increase class size and refuse calls for real transparency in financial matters.

What are the criteria to be on the board? Because there is no accountability. The school is far below the state average and there seems to be significant academic gaps. I would not recommend this school at its current state. There needs be a change in leadership!

My son has been at Center School for 3 years now and I really do not know what some of these reviewers are talking about - Center School is amazing. My son has multiple learning disabilities and he has not only excelled academically at Center School but also socially. All of the teachers know all of the students, and the students know and support each other across the grade levels. Yes, it is expensive but it is worth every penny. If you have a child who is struggling in public school with learning disabilities I would definitely consider Center School. It is a really special place.

have sent my kids here starting in Pre-K, or as they call it K1. My kids have really enjoyed having the same teacher multiple years in a row. The classrooms aret 14 kids total for school total of 42 kids. They are grouped as K1 and K2, then 1st and 2nd, followed by 3rd, 4th, 5th. The K1 and K2 teacher does a great job making room for the kids to learn at their own pace and it works well for the younger kids to have some modeling from the older kids in the classroom. For some kids this is their first experience going to school or preschool at all, so having those older kids (Kindergarteners) that where here last year really helps. This system works well all the way through 5th grade as kids alternate from being the younger grade in the classroom to the older grade. My kids have always been sad to move in from their last teacher but also very excited for the next one as they heard such great things from the older kids. The school also offers before and after school programs as well as afternoon programs on half days and a full day programs during most school breaks (winter, spring break etc). This makes it a lot easier for working parents to not have to find another solution for those times.

The school services have declined quickly and steeply under the Principal we have had the last two years. Most good teachers left after her first year of leadership and hiring has been difficult resulting in crazy high student to teacher ratios. The entire Special Education team left and was replaced with subpar staff. We have experienced many violations to our child’s accommodations/protocols and have heard from other families experiencing the same including children getting hurt, and even leaving the school because they are not being monitored. It is the amazing PTA and the great community of parents what’s holding this school together and making it fun for the kids. I hope we get a new principal asap and I bet it will take a while to rebuild what we had.

Such an incredibly learning environment. My kids love MPA and are so happy to go to school. I appreciate that the learning is really hands on and not just book work.

Students need a Math tutor program. Most parents can only work with their kids on the weekends. A tutoring program is needed specifically in Math. Every time my child asked for help or I asked the school to help, we were told yes but then the teacher my student sat with told my child “I’m a history teacher, I don’t know Math.” I was pro active from tge beginning and spooks to principal to ask what we could do. We were referred to the counselor and teacher to get my child help but he NEVER received the right support. This is coming from a family dealing with medical issues and multiple children in the house hold. No one cared!

About the only thing I can say for the school is that most of the teachers aren good. The administrator has nothing more than a bachelors in psychology and knows nothing about children with special needs or any other needs, for that matter. The pastor does not seem to be Christian at all despite the fact that he preaches every Sunday. This school outright lied about three children. Outright lies. I would discourage any parent from sami Minnesota to the school. It is small, there are no sports. The teachers lie. The administrator Would not know a learning disability if it hits her smack in the face. The pastor is not Christian And her it’s hard to turn people away from God creating his own personal kingdom.

The school had became far worst since the old principal left the new one just chose favoritism over the school policy and pick and choose who he likes and who he doesn't.I will not be sending nor recommending anybody child to come here whatever you do don't send your child here

My 1st grader had to walk for 20 minutes outside for drawing a picture of a bottom with side walk chalk. He wasn’t informed that he could stop, sit or drink water in the 78 degree heat and sun. Sounds alot like jail eh? After asking for evidence twice it was not provided to me the parent.

My kids attend OES Lower School so my only experience beyond 5th grade is judging at the science fair, where the Upper School students create quality projects that demonstrate the excellent science education throughout the school. The Lower School has small class sizes which allows for individual attention to each student's particular learning needs. There is excellent food (according to the toughest of judges - my kids), great spaces to play and do sports (including a brand new Athletic Center), and experiential education that scales from visits to the campus wetlands and forest (in the beginning grades) to overnight camps in the Pacific Northwest (in 4th and 5th grades).
